I’m looking into going back to school to become a medical transcriptionist but I’m wondering about the pay. I’m in Canada and looking at training with CanScribe and they say that the average full-time MT can make $26,000 – $52,000 a year. Is this true? I understand that I wouldn’t be making the $52,000 when starting out. I do need a good income though since I would need to contribute more to RSP’s since contractors wouldn’t be paying into CPP. Any insight, especially from those currently doing this job in Canada, would be a huge help. TIA!
