Former chef of 13 years, debilitating illness causing me to look elsewhere for work with no experience in anything else… applied for disability but don’t want to rely on that for the rest of my life

I am a 38 year old who was diagnosed with a debilitating illness that has gotten worse over the past few years causing me to be unable to work in the restaurant industry due to the physical demands that are expected. I am stuck trying to apply for disability or find other work that I can do from home, but I have no experience in anything else outside of the restaurant industry. I have already contacted my state Vocational Rehabilitation Office and they have told me that my limitations are too severe for them to be able to help me, which is what I thought they were there for in the first place, but I guess not.
I am a hard working person by nature and I am a fast learner as well. I didn’t even go to culinary school to earn my way into the restaurant industry, I learned as I went and got good at what I did, so I know I can learn to do something else and be just as successful. My limitations make it very difficult to be able to commit to an office job 8 hours a day 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Some days I have difficulty just making it to the bathroom in the morning without crawling on the floor, let alone make it into an office, so I really need to find something that gives me the freedom to work in the comfort of my own home. All I need is a chance to prove myself and be able to provide for myself and not have to rely on disability for the rest of my life.
