Online Surveys and Polls

[ad_1]

Can you make money online by taking surveys? Yes. Is there some gremlin standing between you and the money? No. Is there a catch? Of course, there always is. A lot of survey companies will only pay out at a certain amount (maybe $20.00) and a lot of “survey takers” never reach that amount, because they get discouraged and stop taking the surveys; effectively losing any “points” that they have accumulated. What this amounts to, is a lot of free surveys for the survey companies. The surveys still get taken, they still get paid but unless you stick with it long enough rack up the necessary “points”, your working for free.

Despite this, I’ve got to say that I’m impressed with this whole online survey thing. It appears that it is a legitimate way to earn some extra money in your spare time but there’s a lot of information out there and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. There are a lot of companies offering basically the same thing (surveys, research panels, product testing etc.) but they don’t all offer it the same way and this is important. Like many people, I imagine, I began my research by typing in “online surveys” into Google.

Several hours later, it was clear that it was possible (and not too difficult to begin) to make money online with surveys but not all online survey companies are created equal. Some offer sweepstakes entry as compensation, others gift cards or points redeemable for prizes; sometimes points can be converted to cash, other companies only offer cash incentives (i.e. check or PayPal). Some offer no compensation at all (other than random drawings and the pleasure of having helped shape some future product service). Depending on what your looking for in a payment option, one might seem more appealing than another.

For instance, I didn’t like the idea of a company that paid for some surveys but not for others (you might be compensated by being placed in a drawing). I want a company (or several) that will pay me for every survey that I complete. After a couple of more hours, I realized that I was going about this search the wrong way. What I needed, was to find a review site for the survey companies and get a hold of established reviews. And they have them, they have them for everything.

After comparing several different review sites’ information, I was able to narrow it down to what I feel are some of the better online survey companies for: quality, overall satisfaction, ease of use and timely payments (most offer cash incentives) and signed up for 10 of them that best suited my needs. Let me say, that I now understand that you can make money online by taking surveys and there isn’t some gremlin standing between you and the money. They will send you surveys and they will send you money when you complete them. It seems like a great way to earn a little extra money and if that’s your goal (to just take a few surveys in your spare time) signing up with a few of the top-rated companies should be adequate.

However, if you are like me and are researching online surveys as only one part of a larger financial goal, then you will probably want to choose a company (or companies) that offer referrals, like I did. This allows you to take surveys and get paid for them but then also get paid for referring other people (your friends, family, whoever would like to make money online with surveys). It’s win-win, the cornerstone of all good business. You make more money and hopefully your friends and family make more money as well!

As far as online polls go, everything I’ve written applies, except that polls are generally shorter, usually only a few questions long (or one), offer less compensation and more often offer prizes rather than cash. Because you won’t qualify for every survey, you may only receive a few (or more) each month that ends in a payment to you, I suggest you sign up with several survey companies. Check your email regularly, if not daily and actually take the surveys. The more you take and the longer you stick with it, the better offers you will get and more frequently.

Remember, the key to making money online with surveys and polls is to stick with it. You won’t reach that pay out amount, if you stop taking the surveys. I know they can seem tedious and repetitive, especially the ones you end up not qualifying for but some of them are fun and interesting, so stay with it and eventually you can have a check in your hand!
