A good place to start in starting up a business is to create a business plan, so you will know what the demand will be for your product or service and the price you should be charging. 

There are advantages in owning your own business such as tax deductions, working from home, flexible schedule; you can use your creative talents.

The disadvantages are working from home and not being able to separate your business or work from family, stress from owning a business and being responsible for the money or lack of money, isolated at home working, and purchasing your own insurance.

Once you have gone through your business plan and the pros and cons then get started if you decided that the pros are more than the cons.  Remember Ford and Kentucky Fried Chicken started at home.
